Star wouldn't be suprised by any of Eclipsa's "secrets" if she had actually read her chapter instead of just reading her spells. Eclipsa's life, from when she got the wand to the circumstances of her leaving with Globgor, are written in plain text for her to read. Star was just too lazy to read it and, like the Mewmans, didn't put any effort into getting to know Eclipsa.

Star did read her entire chapter. She read it in Page Turner. Strangely, in the Book of Spells that can be bought, there's nothing in Eclipsa's chapter that explains why Marco went all evil at the end of Page Turner.

Eclipsa has shown that she cares more for monsters than her actual people and respects no one's privacy and willing to do anything to get what she wants, as proven when she snuck into Star's mind and not only kidnapped Rhombulus but bodysnatched him as well.

If she read her chapter why didn't she realize there's no way she and Moon are her descendents. She didn't have any children with Shastacan and she makes it clear, she didn't want any with him in the Book. She ran off before she had any.

You'd have to ask Daron about that. I don't even see how Eclipsa's chapter could turn Marco evil, but it did in Page Turner. The writing in the last two seasons of the show has been such a mess.
