"Bam Ui Pati!" is the thirty-fifth episode of the third season of Star vs. the Forces of Evil.

It premiered on March 31, 2018 alongside "Tough Love".[1]

Synopsis

Ponyhead shuts herself away to watch the finale of her favorite Korean Drama.[2]

Plot

The episode begins with Pony Head in bed and watching the season finale of a Korean soap opera called "Bam Ui Pati!" on her laptop computer. After her horn was broken off by Meteora Butterfly in "Skooled!", Pony Head has holed herself up in bed. Pony Head's sisters Azniss and Khrysthalle have called on Star Butterfly to try and get her out of bed (mostly because she's depressing to have around the house). Star tries to get Pony Head out of bed with snacks, saying she needs to pick herself back up after what Meteora did to her, but she refuses and just wants to watch her show.

When Star and Pony Head's sisters become increasingly persistent, Pony Head slips out through her bedroom window and runs off with her on-again/off-again boyfriend, Seahorse. Together, they drive off in Seahorse's company van toward a sea of storm clouds. When Star, Azniss, Khrysthalle, and Hornanne give chase, Seahorse tries to lose them by throwing boxes of his company's merchandise and 3D-printed models of Pony Head at them.

As Pony Head and Seahorse enter the storm, Star and Pony Head's sisters lose them. Meanwhile, Seahorse stops the van in the middle of the storm, saying he can't drive any further because of the weather. Pony Head knocks Seahorse unconscious and takes over as the driver, but she very quickly crashes the van. Even still, she continues to watch her soap opera, which is at the point where the male lead (a vampire) is convincing the female lead (a disenchanted pop singer) to get out of her hospital bed and continue her singing career.

Inspired by the characters in the soap opera, Pony Head decides to stop feeling sorry for herself and live life to the fullest. When Star and Pony Head's sisters catch up with the van, Pony Head apologizes to Star for being such a burden and thanks her for being there for her. To help Pony Head even more, Seahorse uses the 3D printer in the van to create a new artificial horn to replace the one she lost. Unfortunately, Pony Head breaks up with Seahorse again, and when Hornanne asks for her own horn, Pony Head accuses her of always needing to be the center of attention.

    • Ponyhead is terrible. She’s had no character development, all she does is make things worse for everyone else. Loosing her horn did nothing ...
    • Yeah that's why pure comic relief characters are a bad idea. Especially when said character's humor comes from exegerat...
