Think of the curveballs Marco and Star had to go through, especially the ones that involve real problems growing up.
It's fine, you are correct about the curveballs though I meant regarding the plot not the characters themselves. Most Disney shows are pretty black and white, a character is evil because everyone says they're evil without really looking at the motives. And that's fine I mean even in real life people don't always have a reason to kill or do something bad. Star vs, however, actually allows us to see that sometimes the "good" people are bad and the "bad" people are good.
Mariposa being magic would be interesting because it means that she and Marco are probably Mewmans which allows her to be with her essentially adopted sister Meteora without feeling like she's holding her friend back.
If you ask me, I thought what Hekapoo did with her portal was reckless. She could have closed it the moment she came in.
She didn't expect Marco to drag her to a different room though. So this was mostly on Marco(unintentionally of course).

And I suppose the first time she got rid of Meteora was an accident.

She didn't kill Meteora off so she wouldn't be any form of a threat in the future either, now did she?
You're just trying to find any excuse to villify Hekapoo, aren't you? The portal was an accident that was mostly Marco's fault, get over it.
