Daron Leah Nefcy is the creator, writer, and executive producer of Star vs. the Forces of Evil. She is the second woman to create an animated series for Disney Channel, the first being Sue Rose, the creator of Pepper Ann, and the first woman to create an animated production for Disney XD.
She also voices additional characters on the show, such as StarFan13, Sabrina Backintosh, Becky, and the pixie princess at St. Olga's Reform School for Wayward Princesses.
Early life
Nefcy was born in Los Angeles, California. She studied at the California Institute of the Arts and graduated with a BFA in character animation in 2009. She originally came up with the character of Star Butterfly in her third year of college at the time of Cartoon Network's (eventually cancelled) Cartoonstitute project.
