Doop-Doop is a living broom and the first magic spell that Star Butterfly ever created. After creating him, Star abandoned him alone in a shed for years. Doop-Doop was wiped from existence after all magic was destroyed.

Appearance

Doop-Doop is a short brown broomstick. He has two protruding eyes, a long nose, and a wide mouth with buckteeth at the top of his broom handle.

Personality

Despite his situation, Doop-Doop appears to bear no ill will toward Star, and he is happy with whatever time he can spend with her, even when she unintentionally rebuffs him.

History

Doop-Doop first appears in the season 4 episode of the same name, where Star and Tom Lucitor visit him while preparing to go on their vacation. Upon waking up from a seemingly years-long sleep, Doop-Doop becomes elated at seeing Star, offhandedly mentioning how he had spent years alone roasting in the sun and coming down with a coughing fit. As Star and Tom leave, Doop-Doop, believing he is accompanying them on their "adventure", attempts to follow, only to face-plant on the ground.

In "Ready, Aim, Fire", Star is transported into Doop-Doop's shed from the Realm of Magic by the Firstborn. Doop-Doop greets Star and starts talking about plans for her to stay there forever, only for her to notice explosions coming from the Monster Temple and promptly leave the shed without a word. In response to this, Doop-Doop stops talking and starts to whistle.

• Doop-Doop is voiced by Justin Roiland, best known as the co-creator of the Adult Swim animated series Rick and Morty.
  • This role also makes it his third role in a Disney Television Animation series after 2010's Fish Hooks and 2012's Gravity Falls.
• During a Reddit AMA on August 3, 2019, when asked if Doop-Doop is alive, Daron Nefcy answered, "Nope nope".
