Eddie is a friend of River Butterfly who appears in Season 3 and Season 4.
Appearance[]
Eddie appears to be a bald caucasian with a large blond mustache. He has several pink mushrooms on his head, large furry boots, and a shirt that appears to be made out of leaves and twigs. He has spiderwebs under his arms with black spiders hanging off of them.
Personality[]
Eddie is a chummy yet somewhat dimwitted person. He has a happy-go-lucky attitude, as demonstrated in the episode "Tough Love," when he happily explained to Moon and Eclipsa that his family's souls had just been sucked from their bodies. His idiotic behavior is demonstrated in the episode "The Bogbeast of Boggabah," where River explains that everyone falls for the trick of being labeled as "the Bogbeast," Eddie having fallen for it twice. This is further demonstrated in the episode "Tough Love," When Eddie theorized that the rampaging Meteroa was the Bogbeast.
History[]
In "The Bogbeast of Boggabah," Eddie appeared to be hiding as a bush before revealing himself to River and Star. River informed him that they were there for the Bogbeast, to which he reminisces about his first "Bogbeast hunt." He then went back into hiding, advising star to listen for the "Bogbeast's song." At the episode, it is revealed by River that Eddie had been the "Bogbeast" twice, to which he responds "I never learn!"
In the episode "Tough Love," Eddie bumps into Eclipsa and Moon. He explains that he has been tracking "the beast" (Meteora) for quite some time, and so Moon asks if he could take them to it. He said that her request would depend on whether or not they both have legs, to which he quickly realized that they did. While on the way, he informs them that he believed the beast to be "The Bogbeast," and described how big she had become. After following her tracks, they arrive at the clearing of a forest, where he tells them to look up. To their shock, they see the floating bodies of five Mermans, who says are his family. He says that the beast had eaten their souls, and although he was happy at first, he now missed them. He then walks into the woods to try and find the beast, only for his soul to be immediately sucked out of his body.
In the episode "Conquer," he and his family's bodies are briefly seen being used as balloons by Tom Lucitor.
In the episode "Cornonation," Eddie is seen in the woods braiding River's hair while asking why he isn't at attending. River responds that he can't go because Eddie needs help with his stress. Eddie responds by saying that he isn't stressed, and River goes on to project all of his problems onto Eddie. Eddie remarks that he really must be stressed, and then points out a monster (Globgor) approaching them, causing them both to scream. River immediately wrangles Globgor by one of his horns while Eddie hands onto his legs. River suspects that he is the Bogbeast, but Star arrives and informs him that it's Globgor. Globgor runs away with the two men still attached to his horn, and so Star turns into her butterfly form and rescues them, dropping them off in a tree.
In "Pizza Party," it is revealed that Eddie was helping to protect Globgor, hiding inside of a plant in his room. River eventually reveals that Globgor isn't doing well and offers him his "Beard Meat," to which Eddie correct him, informing him that Globgor is a vegetarian.
In "The Tavern at the End of the Multiverse," Eddie and River are seen carrying Globgor through the forest in order to get him to the Magic Sanctuary. Eddie questions whether or not they will be able to get him there.
In "Cleaved," he and River are confronted by Mina Loveberry, being startled by Sebastian. Eddie accidentally reveals that he and River are headed to the Magic Sanctuary.
