She voices Star Butterfly in Star vs. the Forces of Evil.

Life and career

Sher was born in Los Angeles, California, and has been acting since she was eight years old. She has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the short film Stuck, and ads for Capital One and Fruity Pebbles. Sher also had the recurring role of Gretchen in the second season of the Showtime series Weeds. She is also known for her role as Carrie Fenton in the television series Sons and Daughters. Sher made a guest appearance on Sonny with a Chance as Lucy.

Since 2009, Sher has starred in the ABC comedy series The Middle as Sue Heck - a quirky, but ever-hopeful teenager. In 2013 she won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Comedy Supporting Actress for her role in The Middle.

  • Star Butterfly is Sher's first voice-over role in animation. She auditioned for the part in 2013.[1]
