John William DiMaggio is an American actor, voice actor and comedian best known for his roles as Bender in Futurama and Jake the Dog on Adventure Time.
He voices several characters in Star vs. the Forces of Evil, including Dogbull, Ludo's father Brudo, and the sea serpent in "Star vs. Echo Creek".
Early life[]
A native of North Plainfield, New Jersey, DiMaggio currently lives in Los Angeles, California. He has been married to voice actress Kate Miller since October 2014.
Career[]
DiMaggio is known for his role as Bender in the animated series Futurama, Jake the Dog in Adventure Time, and Marcus Fenix in the Gears of War franchise. Other notable roles of DiMaggio's include Dr. Drakken and Motor Ed in Kim Possible, the Scotsman in Samurai Jack, Brother Blood in Teen Titans, Fu Dog in American Dragon: Jake Long, Shnitzel in Chowder, and Niblet in Pound Puppies.
DiMaggio is a former comedian, appearing on stage as part of a comic duo named "Red Johnny and the Round Guy", and he has several on-screen credits, such as Steve Ballmer in Pirates of Silicon Valley and the recurring character Dr. Sean Underhill in Chicago Hope. He is also the executive producer and narrator of I Know That Voice, a documentary about the world of voice acting, along with producer Tommy Reid and director Lawrence Shapiro.
