  • Are you fixated on Tom and his family, Jess? Because your edits on the Wiki seem largely focused on him, considering how often you edit these pages:

    • Just pointing out what I've observed to be kind of a weird fixation. Plus, some of the info you've been adding is vague (for example, claiming that "going through the family album" is one of Wrathmelior's likes based on a single instance of her doing so).

        Loading editor
    • i don't know how it's a weird fixiation, if tom has had things in recent episodes i can add to him and other articles.

We went to the underworld twice recently, got to know tom's family recently, and learned further things about tom and the enviroment he lives in enough to add some other detials that were left out.

Yeah, but she also got REALLY excited about it and the episode also implies she made the album herself and took all the pictures. So it looks to me like the album seems to be something that does mean a lot to her, as well as taking pictures of important memories.

I mean, based on that logic Tom enjoying surfing shouldn't be on his page because we've only seen him surf once.

The episode doesn't need to spit it out, you can kinda get a feeling for what a character likes judging by how they react or from other detials in the episode.

  • I like you art a lot, but after I started seeing how aggressive can you get with people just because they don't think the way you do, I started having doubt to continue following you.

I hope you can change, but it seems that is unlikely to happen.

    • I'm sorry.

I never meant to ever come off as if i'm aggressive, when i type these things out i'm not doing them to be malicious and i avoid using insults. People may read them as though i'm angry but in actuality i'm speaking through them rather calmly, which is the sad part about using technology as it's harder to tell how a person really feels on the other side of the computer.

Truth of the matter is i am open to debate, i'm open to disscussion, i want to talk about these things and i think it's healthy to disscuss them like adults and not like children. The sad part is I can't talk about them because people ether think "it's a cartoon, so being upset about it doesn't matter", or "none of this matters and you're getting upset about it".

And look, i get it, it's a show in the end of the day.

but the show wasn't made by kids, it was made by adults. It being a cartoon should'nt be something that both keeps people from talking about it crtically sometimes, or keeps it from being quality. Cartoons today are still very underestimated and put down as a medium and that's unfair as cartoons have huge impacts on our culture and our livliehoods. Animation is an art form, it deserves more respect then it gets. No one should ever put down something "Because it's a cartoon", that's like saying kids shows don't matter "Because it's for kids", kids are not stupid, and should not be treated as stupid. They're learning and improving and it's important to have some shows that make them think.

every show has flaws, the show was never going to be flawless, but we should'nt pretend they aren't there either. It's normal to feel as though things need to be improved and mistakes were made. Heck, i'm never even confident n my own work half the time, most of the time i feel as though it's not any good at all.

With how fandoms are these days, especially with how this fandom is with the love situation, it feels better to stop pretending the love plot is flawless. Because rarely are the flaws disscussed....if it has to do with starco, it's very easy for find tons of posts complaining about tomstar and jarco, but it's rare for anyone to point out some of the problems with star and marco's setup. The reason i point them out, is because the show points them out, star's negligence to tom was brought up time and time again and if you have no bias to any ships on the show it just kinda feels so....i guess perhaps cold? Mean-spirted?

It's especially just a bit worrying when the main characters do the cheating, the main couple every fandom loves does something bad? It's easy for people to see the intended problems they have when it's kinda the most popular ship in the fandom.

The show is full of so many great characters and relationships you get very attached to, but when alot of them get pushed back time and time again for star and marco's romance, it unfortunality leaves bad effects on them as characters. Maybe if you're a hardcore shipper you can look past it, but considering losing those relationships become actual things that happen in these eps, it kinds makes it concerning with the kiss situation.

And the show is a funny goofy show sometimes, but it clearly also wants to take on some serious subjects. Cheating, in this fashion, is something we have to take seriously because the show clearly has that intent. Even the crew, has stated that's the intent they want to send. And yet it's silly when people feel concerned about it?

after what happened with jackie, people have every right to feel concerned. Because not only is cheating a big deal that usually reserved for villianous characters and could affect the audience in a negative manner since it's a sensitive topic that most everyone can relate to. But jackie was practically thrown out of the show after what happened to her, and the fandom really disliked that because it felt as though the show really didn't care much for it's own side characters, jackie didn't even fight, and it made her relationship with marco feel hollow which is sad. No one wants Tom to be cast aside for a love triangle, especially not after this.

only reason it even bothers me so much is because no one really seems to care how messed up the situation even is, as though if you're concerned you're crazy, even though after how jackie's situation went it's a real concern that the staff would pull that off again and have tom forgive star and marco for something that would feel both unfitting for his character, and for how people in real life should handle these situations.

and "Starco will be canon, so deal with it", is not ever going to be a valid excuse for why you should'nt care. This show is so much more then starco, there are other relationships and other characters fans are also really attached to and want better for and that's perfectly viable. Starco can go on however long it can but that doesn't mean everything that lead up to it doesn't have any issues and unfortunate implications. Looking at the situation face value the show needs to fix a few things to make starco actually feel earned, and having them cheat on their friend should not be treated as an acceptable way for this show. it puts down their friendship with tom as unimportant or meaningless in comparison to each other and it makes them as characters less fun to watch because they end up looking selfish.

I'm only this critical of the show, because i like it, and i want the best for it. I actually do have alot more faith in the writers of this show to improve and work on some of this, at least more then the others seem to. But untill we see what happens, of course we're all nervous about it.

I'm open to debate and disscussion, and i want to hear others ideas. But if the argument boils down to "You're too upset over cheating in a cartoon" or "Cartoons are for kids" or "It doesn't matter cause this ship is gonna be endgame", those don't feel like real arguments. They come off as though someone is putting you down for being critical of anything for this show and just don't want to hear you be critical of it. You are free to claim as though i may sound like i don't want to hear someone's opinion, but most of these actual opinions being sent to me are opinions related to be keeping quiet about my own opinions.

And you should be free to talk about how you feel about certain topics without being told you can't talk about them or feeling upset is just silly.

And listen, if you're upset with me, that's perfectly understandable and i'm not gonna blame you in the slightest. I'm passionate about the show and it bothers me how some people treat some subject matter and mistreat some of hese characters. I'm open to ideas, but when it comes to touchy subjects like cheating, i feel it shoud be treated more seriously then the fandom has been treating it. Because no matter what, it's going to lead to something involving the tom/marco/star triad and we need to be wary what could happen considering the fandom during the last love triangle.

I will not blame you if you're dissapointed and upset with me, and i could never hold it against you. You are free to feel how you feel on the matter and i'm sorry If I upset you in any way. It was never my intent and i wish i could make it up to you.

  • Hey, Jess-the-vampire. Correct me if I'm wrong, but for the past month or so, it seems to me you've just been making a random edit on a random page every 24 hours. Your eagerness to edit is appreciated, but edits on the Wiki should be made with an earnest intent on contributing, not just for the sake of a Wiki badge or something. Again, I may be wrong, but that's simply what your style of editing is coming across as.

    • Fair point. But Tom is referred to as "half-demon" because (1) he's been officially stated to be such, and (2) he has physical demon traits like horns and a tail.

Mewman biology is unclear when it comes to crossbreeding, so despite being the offspring of a Mewman and a demon, it's possible that Celena is 100% Mewman, which would explain why none of HER offspring inherited any apparent demon traits.

yeah, but that could be a meteora thing honestly, where she looks basically mewman until her powers kick in and her features come back out suddenly.

Meteora is your fine example of a mewman/monster crossbreed, and from what we've seen with her, her monster traits can be easily hidden.

  • We kinda see that in Club Snubbed and Demonicsm, we see that Star and Tom are being friends again because Tom is being supportive of Star trying to be a better princess, and Tom is completely over Star and not doing any chicanery to date him.

We see in Lint Catcher that Star and Tom are basically hanging out, and Marco and Tom had a quick bromance moment. I don't think Star and Tom are dating or officialy boyfriend and girlfriend. It is yet to be confirmed.

One thing, will our Tomco hearts break when Lava Lake Beach airs?

    • Not sure, i'm still waiting for whatever tomco surprise the crew has been teasing about this season, and i doubt that greeting was it.

Rather they didn't make a plot where Marco ruins his friendship with Tom because of any crush on Star thank you very much s3. Because Tom and Marco are such cute and good friends, and i'd rather you didn't ruin it via love triangle cause they don't deserve that.

  • This is what the leak says

It focuses on a traditional royal dance on Mewni and revolves primarily around Tom ignoring Star and her trying to make him jealous.

    - The episode culminates in the Star/Tom dance scene that was shown at Comic Con back in July.

    - Lots of Pony Head shenanigans that range from kind of annoying to really funny.

    - The character designs of the other royal families in this episode are hilarious.

Is Star making Tom jealous ruining her character development, and Pony Head is kinda influencing her like this valley girl stereotype, and I hate this kind of sitcom plot.

    • Tom's development is fine.

Let me copy and paste a post i did awhile back when someone claimed this would ruin Tom:

"The lesson Tom learned was that he should'nt be forcing Star to date him if she doesn't return his feelings. That he should accept that he can't change the past or win her back if she doesn't want it. Not that he should never once try and become her friend or refrian from all contact with her. This doesn't screw up his development at all because :

      A. He's not forcing any relationship on her or unhealthily obsessing over her.

      B. Star would be returning his feelings in the case of them dating after this, without him interferring with how she feels in the slightest.

This doesn't mess with Tom's character development at all frankly, because his character development was never to stop liking Star nor to stop caring about her. If Tom went back to trying to make Star like him or hating Marco because he liked Star THAT would ruin his character development.

Not to mention according to the people who saw this ep during CalArts, Tom was ignoring Star for this ep because he was trying to give her SPACE and leave her alone entirely. Tom actually went out of the way to not bother her, but in the end they instead talked it out and actually are working towards putting the past beind them. So No, Tom has not broken his development, and not only has went out of the way to let Star do what she wants, but Star actually wants him back in her life again willingly.

if Tom and Star got back together, it doesn't screw up development for either of them. They both grew from the mistakes they made and got back together because they wanted to, not because Tom forced it."

Tom will be fine, as long as he's not forcing Star to date him or being hateful to Marco, then his character developement is fine. The fandom only says it affects his character development because they WANTED him to move on ((One less "Pawn in the way of starco" i suppose)). But in reality, this ruins nothing about his character, no one was making Tom move on from Star y'know? Marco just told him he can't make Star love him, and that he needs to consider how she feels as well, that they can't get back together...unless Star wants it too.

The tomco shippers will be fine, the tomco community is ridicoulously chill about the entire situation. Honestly, i think most of us are just super happy to see Tom again and not only that, but see his parents for the first time.

    • Thanks. People worry about Starco, Jarco, Tomco, and Tomstar (Stom), I worry about Rafangie, Moonriver, Starco. I like all the characters with high regards and I don't wanna go down that route again angrily commenting about the Diazes being mean a-holes to Marco
