Ruberiot is the most recently appointed official songstrel of Mewni and, as of "Booth Buddies", Foolduke's husband. He first appears in the episode "Face the Music".
Appearance[]
Ruberiot is a young Mewman man with light skin, green eyes and short orange hair that usually obscures his right eye. He wears a powder blue shirt, frilly bluish-gray shorts, bluish-gray boots, a dark grayish-blue hat with a light blue feather on top, and a purple scarf. Ruberiot also has a very thin mustache, and a short, pointed goatee.
While on stage during Star's Song Day celebration and performing "The Ballad of Star Butterfly", Ruberiot wears a lavish white and gold glam-rock outfit with light blue trim and a deep blue cape.
In "Booth Buddies", he wears a white suit with black and gray striped trousers, a purple waistcoat, and a pink flower in his left lapel.
History[]
Ruberiot appears in season 2's penultimate episode "Face the Music" as the newly appointed songstrel of Mewni, tasked with writing a "Princess Song" for Star Butterfly's Song Day celebration. However, because of her negative views toward Princess Songs, Star initially refuses to work with Ruberiot on the song, placing some of the blame for why Princess Songs are so trite on songstrels in general.
As it turns out, however, Ruberiot's primary goal is to break the long-held tradition of old-fashioned Princess Songs and write something for a "real princess". Thus, he and Star collaborate on writing and composing an epic rock ballad depicting Star's life. Unfortunately, through some of Ruberiot's non-approved lyrics, he reveals to the populace of the kingdom that King and Queen Butterfly kept the theft of the book of spells and Glossaryck secret from the Magic High Commission and that Star has a crush on Marco Diaz. Because of this, he inadvertently instigates a riot among the Mewmans.
Ruberiot mentions briefly that he once pursued education to be a "lawstrel", but dropped out of school.
In Star vs. the Forces of Evil: The Battle for Mewni, Ruberiot was first seen attending King Butterfly's many parties that were being held at his castle to keep the people happy while he was in charge. He then later gets roped into taking part in a resistance movement with Marco, Foolduke, and Mime Girl after Ludo takes over Butterfly Castle. He and his fellow performers are last seen chained up in the castle dungeon.
In "Scent of a Hoodie", Ruberiot and his fellow performers say goodbye to Marco just before he leaves for Earth.
In "Booth Buddies", Ruberiot gets married to Foolduke.
In "Conquer", he is briefly seen as one of Meteora Butterfly's victims.
In "Escape from the Pie Folk", Ruberiot visits Foolduke's home and family on Pie Island, and he assists with the liberation of Queen Butterfly from the Pie King.
In "Cornonation", Ruberiot takes part in Eclipsa Butterfly's queen coronation ceremony.
