Sean Christian Schemmel is an American voice actor, ADR director, and screenwriter best known for voicing adult Goku and King Kai in the Funimation dub of the Dragon Ball anime franchise.
He voices the Box of Truth in Star vs. the Forces of Evil.
Career[]
Schemmel has worked for Funimation, NYAV Post, 4Kids Entertainment, Central Park Media and DuArt Film and Video providing voices for a number of English adaptations of Japanese anime, as well as various animated series and video games.
Schemmel began voicing the teen and adult versions of Goku for Funimation in 1999. He has since been the most consistent English voice actor for the character, having voiced Goku in the Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Z Kai and the current Dragon Ball Super anime series, as well as nearly all Dragon Ball-related video games and animated movies.
Schemmel has also dubbed over various characters in the Pokémon series from 2003 to 2015, such as Lucario in Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew.
In addition to his voice acting career, Schemmel was also an ADR Director and script writer for NYAV Post, where he had directed and adapted for English dubs of several Japanese anime series.
