A Solarian Sword is a magical weapon that are used by Solarian Warriors, including Mina Loveberry. They were created by Queen Solaria Butterfly, the mother of Eclipsa Butterfly, who wanted to rid Mewni of all monsters.

During the events of "Ready, Aim, Fire" through "The Tavern at the End of the Multiverse", Mina Loveberry and many new Solarian Warriors, created by Moon Butterfly, wielded them against the Monsters and many others who stood in their way.

In "Cleaved", all of the swords are assumed to be destroyed along with the Realm of Magic.

Appearance[]

When dormant, The Solarian Swords appear as bronze-gold sword hilts with plum wrappings on the handle and a lightning bolt symbol on them, symbolizing that they were from the Era of Solaria. Overtime, the swords became rusted but still usable after.

When active, each sword produces a red, jagged energy blade, one similar to The Royal Magic Wand in Solaria’s possession.

During the reign of Solaria Butterfly, the swords were used against monsters, especially Buff Frog's ancestors, who were easily outmatched against.

Ready, Aim, Fire[]

The swords are once again taken up by Mina Loveberry, who joined forces with the Magic High Commission to dethrone Eclipsa Butterfly. During the attack on the Monster Temple, a Solarian Warrior wounds Globgor, disabling his size-shifting abilities, and attacks Eclipsa relentlessly.

The Right Way[]

After being knocked over by Star Butterfly, The Solarian Warrior takes on her allies one by one and using his Solarian Sword, while Eclipsa Butterfly and Janna Ordonia discover that anyone wounded by a Solarian Sword met a grim fate. Back in Monstertown, The Solarian Soldier gets the drop on Star and her allies, wounding Quirky Guy, then scarring Talon Raventalon, slicing off Rich Pigeon's robot arm off, instantly takes down Kelly and Jorby when they tried to take him on and wounding Pony Head when she tried attacking him. Star then takes on the Solarian Warrior with her Rainbow Kaiju Battle Armor before eventually taken down by the warrior, who stabbed her with his sword.

Pizza Party[]

Mina and her Solarian Army attack Moon Butterfly, along with her daughter, Star, and even Marco, Eclipsa and Meteora, with their Solarian Swords, right after Moon's spell failed to reverse the effects of the Solarian Metamorphosis on the warriors she created.

The Tavern at the End of the Multiverse[]

The Solarian Warriors have their swords out as they prepared to throw every monster in Mewni off the cliff. The sword's affects are shown as it takes a huge effect on Quirky Guy, who explodes after his scar completely consimes him.

Cleaved[]

When the Realm of Magic was destroyed, the Solarian Swords, along with the Solarian Armored warriors, are destroyed once and for all, due to there not being enough magic to power them.

Abilities[]

Every Solarian Sword was capable of physically harming not just monsters but also beings from other dimensions, like Kelly, Talon Raventalon or even Quirky Guy. According to Dr. Emily Kepbottom’s Compendium of Magical Ailments, the swords were capable of marking their foes, mostly monsters, with a magic scar that would consume them until they exploded in a white flash of light, leaving a burn mark behind.

However, one of the ways to get rid of a magic scar is either by healing it at the Magic Sanctuary or by destroying all of magic itself, like Star Butterfly did in "Cleaved", but whether or not there were other ways of treating the scar without involving magic is completely unknown.

Trivia[]

  • The Solarian Swords somewhat resemble red lightsabers which were used by the Sith Lords from the Star Wars franchise.
  • It’s possible that Queen Solaria Butterfly inspired the swords off of her own wand.
