Really good episode! I thought the pacing and focus was a bit off, but it's not surprising when three characters have things going on. This was a strong start for the second season, and it opens a lot of doors for possibilities on Star's side of things (while "Ludo in the Wild" does the same for the "forces of evil" side).
While I don't want Star to be ready to go without her wand yet, I'm happy she got to use her "Avatar state" again after the first season finale. I wonder what the point is of having the wand after dipping down, though. I hope they explain that at some point... Anyway, I assumed the wand would malfunction often without both pieces, so here's to hoping for more chaos caused by a less reliable wand.
Also, I wonder what Star wrote about Marco? I don't know if was romantic-related or not, but there must be something interesting in there for Star not wanting Marco to read it.
I'm so happy that SVTFOE is back, and this was a fun episode to get the ball rolling.
