I feel like I'm one of the few people not surprised to see Marco do magic, considering I called it back in my "Unsolved Mysteries in the Battle for Mewni" post, but I was still giddy to see it. As for those confused about the wand transforming It has been stated that it does that based on the personality of the wielder. I could never do it myself, but someone should breakdown Marco's wand and what it means about him.
I never really thought there would be any real problem with humans being incapable using the wand, but I lost it when Marco gained cheek marks. I KNEW those were important. But why is baffling to me. I have a really hard time seeing Marco being revealed as a Mewman, and I don't think the cheek marks are evidence of that. Only female Mewmans have those, so Marco gaining them shouldn't suggest that.
Also, given that Marco's name used to be Sol, it's even more shocking to me that they were moons, the exact antithesis of his name. Of course, you could say it's linked to the Blood Moon Ball...hm. I reference everyone to a lesser known statement during the #Fanco13 live chat, where Marco says he has "felt weird" since the events of the BMB. Although the Blood Moon could be a reason for the marks (consider Ludo didn't gain them when he used magic), I'm still not sure why that would be the case. I guess the evidence to that would be Marco directly referencing soul-binding when he picks up the wand, but I feel like there is some symbolism about the moon as an object itself that ties into Marco's personality, similarly to how the wand changed to match it. What do you guys think?
