Well, there goes the theory Star might yield the throne to Meteora. This episode made her much less sympathetic.
Lots of interesting stuff going on here,....Im thinking theyre toying with us a bit before things get serious and detailed. Im assuming there will be a crazy real cliff hanger at the end of the season that will have us talking for awhile tho.
After watching this episode, the concept of consequentialism and the butterfly effect is being played throughout the second part of season 3. Eclipsa having run away and marrying a monste that procreated Meteora, King Shastacan abandoning Meteora in favor of Festivia, St. Olga forraising the hybrid princess with such harsh and toxic principles of perfection and discipline, the Magical High Commission for intervening and rewriting Mewman history to deontologically preserve order. These became catalysts that led up to Meteora becoming the monster that everyone fears and with Queen Moon becoming a shell of herself and fleeing to the realm of magic, Mewni is now defenseless and unprepared for Meteora's rampage.

What is just me, or did the animation in this episode seem a bit off? Like not as fluid as usual.
This was a really surprising episode. Meteora has become more powerful than ever, and even Eclipsa, her own mother is unable to talk her down.
The battle between Moon and Meteora was awesome. It's too bad Eclipsa interfered at the wrong time. Now Moon is out of the action, and Meteora is on her way to reclaim the throne.
