Star vs. the Forces of Evil Wiki
Tom vs Jannanigans

For almost everyone who has seen the series rather from loving or hating it, some fans as would do anything to keep the spirit of the series alive for years to come. And of course, what a better way to do so is the works of fanart to fanfiction.

To say some art can look awesome to even look like it came straight out the series while others can really be... Overwhelming as a nice way to put it, (Not everyone has to like everything... Beware of BTF😵)

But throughout every fanfiction I've ever read, I found myself very intriguied to this story as it was from the series itself. Created by Tumblr user Moringmark, the story he made is more like a alternate retelling in trying to be cannon during the events of the actual series.

Unlike the series as it is a spin-off, the story centers around Janna Ordonia and Tom Lucitor, as it goes through their point of view of the show. While Star and Marco are considered minor characters with only a few appearances.

When it comes to this version, Janna follows Tom to his home in the underworld during his plan of the Blood moon, after a "surprising" impression even after the first interaction, the two then started to bond a friendship and have their own adventures in the underworld. (Also going behind the scenes almost as similar to Lion King 1/2)

What really has the interest for this it really follows around the events of any episode from Blood Moon Ball to the finale in Cleaved, even to feel as if this really happened during the actual series.

Now what's likely to believe that this was inspired to be made like an extension to moments from Junkin' Janna. (Then again it really is no surprise that this began a thing with fans during their first interaction with each other during the events of season 4)

To say for all the ideas going into this, really does has that feel to be believable and maybe even considered even possible for even the characters to be doing these events.

Another thing to mention is the illustrations for the story. As it is from MoringMark, his style doesn't really match the quality of the character designs, as he simply can make them more sketchy with more sharp corners on the drawings, there are even moments when the zoom out and they soon look like something chilbi looking with no iris in their eyes becoming cute looking. However since it is a comic it's understandable since it not aiming to be perfect and overall the designs still looks awesome and even fun to read within their moments.

What's more is that it doesn't stop for making the worlds look immersive to even be something that even the series couldn't even give to explore on, rather it be the underworld, to the interior of Tom castle, to even be in the subconscious of the mind and just makes it entertaining to read, even giving some action scenes to makes some moments exciting and give the illusion like it really happen from the show.

Now not to say it's all perfect, even if Mark's story does seem convincing, he doesn't go through all the episodes stories or at least expanded in the ones with the characters being the mainly in, including Bon Bon, or Club Snubbed. Even Junkin Janna made only a small bit in a plot, but that could be nitpicking since we already got enough point of view with the series.

Another may seem problematic is with humor, Although some of the gags can be really funny, other can really feel out of place even by the shows standards, especially since this take with characters humor happens to get "adult" at some moments, even through they're censored out.

Also what may seem somewhat out of place for some people is with the characters personally, there are some time when this adaptation of Janna can be considered either relatable or out of place, since she was made to be more nicer compare to her real persona from the series. But for others (including me) it does help with some of the character development to even feel the emotional support to even go through the drama to even feel emotions from her.

To say I really had a lot of enjoyment from reading this, with it's fan fiction story really feels convincing to be cannon, awesome illustrations and newly made character development this can really be a fun read even throughout the weekend. If you want to see the series in a different point of view (or see a convincing way to make Tom+Janna a thing) then you really should have a look for yourself. (Especially to those who would really want to see "JanTom" or "Tomna" be a thing)

Also check out other works MoringMark, as he also does other fabrications or makes some small comedic pics for anyone who interested for some comedy bits.
